Zink Institute Receives
American Petroleum Institute Certification of Its Flagship Course
TULSA, Okla., July 25, 2006 John Zink Company's educational organization,
The John Zink Institute, has earned certification of its Process Burner
Fundamentals course from the American Petroleum Institute. John Zink is the
first company to have a burner course certified under API's training
provider certification program.
John Zink underwent a four month evaluation process of its continuing
education program to earn the API certification of the Institute's flagship
course. Procedures, course structure, instructor credentials and policies
were among the many criteria examined.
Many professionals in the combustion industry are required to have
API-certified training,¯ said Dr. Chuck Baukal, director of the John Zink
Institute at John Zink Company. Our certification illustrates John Zink's
commitment to providing continuing education that meets the needs of
combustion operators and engineers.¯
John Zink's courses for the remainder of 2006 include Introduction to Power
Boiler Burners; Commercial Boiler Burner Service Level II; Understanding
and Preventing Process Equipment Failures; Process Burner Fundamentals;
Advanced Process Burners; Process Burner Operations; Fired Heater Resource
Management; Fundamentals of Ethylene Cracking Furnaces; Fundamentals of
Steam Methane Reforming Furnaces; Process Flare Fundamentals; Advanced
Process Flares; Industrial Combustion Pollution and Control; CFD Modeling;
Thermal Oxidizers; and Vapor Control. Classes conducted at customer
locations may also be arranged.
Most Institute courses are accredited by the International Association for
Continuing Education and Training so students meeting the necessary
requirements can earn continuing education units.
