Flare Systems

LHTS™ Air-Assisted Flare

The LHTS™ air-assisted flare burner is designed for low-cost smokeless combustion of moderate to high waste gas flow rates. The LHTS system is commonly used in cold climates where steam assisted flare burners may freeze. It is most commonly selected by compressor stations, cryogenic gas processing plants, fractionation plants, and other applications where steam is not the preferred smokeless assist medium.

Overview

Air-Assisted Flare System for Smokeless Burning

The LHTS™ flare system is designed to provide clean, smokeless combustion across as wide range of flow rates and waste gas compositions without using steam. Assist air is provided by one or more low pressure blowers located near the base of the flare stack. Assist air mixes with the waste gas at the exit of the flare burner and provides both an oxygen source for combustion and the mixing energy needed to mix the waste gas with the ambient oxygen. More air and better mixing results in higher smokeless flow rates.

The flare burner includes one or more high quality John Zink WindPROOFTM pilots for reliable and stable flare ignition in hurricane wind speeds.

Features

  • Air-Assisted System: Uses air instead of steam to assist in the combustion process, making it suitable for locations without steam availability.
  • Continuous Pilots: Ensures reliable ignition and stable operation.
  • Efficient, Low Pressure Blowers: Provides the air needed for smokeless combustion.
  • Designed for Cold Climates: Operates efficiently in colder environments where steam assist can cause condensation and freezing issues.
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Rated Blower Motor: The supplied motor is designed to integrate seamlessly with a VFD for precise air flow control.

Benefits

  • Smokeless Operation: Meets environmental regulations for emissions control by providing smokeless combustion of waste gases with low capital costs.
  • Versatile Application: Capable of handling moderate to high waste gas flows, making it suitable for a variety of industrial applications.
  • Custom Design: Custom designed flare tip / stack combination to provide required performance at minimum cost.
