Flare Systems

Utility Flares

John Zink's utility flares are unassisted flare tips designed for the efficient combustion of hydrocarbons. Known for their simplicity and effectiveness, these flares are commonly used where smokeless operation is either inherent or not a primary concern.

Overview

Cost-Effective, Reliable Solutions

Our utility flares are engineered as a cost-effective and straightforward solution for the combustion of waste gases. These unassisted flare tips, also referred to as "pipe flares," are widely utilized due to their flame stabilization mechanisms that enhance flame stability and ignition. The proprietary design includes a stability ring that creates a low-pressure zone, improving flame retention and minimizing the risk of flame lift-off at high flow rates. Additionally, the flares can be equipped with a protective windshield to further enhance combustion properties and extend the life of the flare tip. John Zink’s utility flares are designed to operate within specific design limits and are equipped with features to ensure stable combustion and an extended operational lifespan.”

Features

  • Flare Tip Design: The utility flare tip is unassisted and includes a specially-designed flame retention device that stabilizes the flame and prevents flame blow-off.
  • Material Construction: Constructed from high nickel alloys, the flare tip ensures reliable long-term service life.
  • Wind Deflectors: Specially designed wind deflectors extend the tip life by breaking up the low-pressure region responsible for flame deflection and attachment on the leeward side of the flare.
  • Ignition System: John Zink has a wide range of reliable pilots to ensure ignition of the vent gas along with multiple pilot ignition systems and pilot monitoring systems.

Benefits

  • Optimum Combustion Performance: The design features of the utility flare tip provide optimum combustion performance, ensuring efficient operation.
  • Longevity: The use of high nickel alloys and wind deflectors contributes to the long-term durability of the flare tip.
  • Safety and Reliability: The ignition control system ensures reliable operation in diverse environmental conditions, enhancing overall safety.
