Get to know Thomas as he shares his career path, favorite traditions, and what makes him proud to be part of the team.
When did you join John Zink? What initially attracted you to John Zink?
I joined John Zink 2014. I had heard from several people that it was a great company with a strong reputation and a long-standing history. What really drew me in was learning that so many employees had been with the company for over 20 years—that spoke volumes about the culture and stability here.
What is one thing about your job that might surprise people?
We are deeply committed to environmental stewardship. A lot of people might not realize how much effort we put into ensuring that our products are designed to be as clean and efficient as possible.
What has your career journey looked like so far? Which roles have you held at John Zink, and how have they contributed to your professional growth?
I started in the warehouse and receiving department, where I gained hands-on experience with our operations. After two years, I transitioned to the Aftermarket Sales team, which allowed me to develop new skills in business growth and customer relations. Over time, I’ve also learned how to be a leader and a mentor, helping my team succeed.
What is your favorite tradition or event at John Zink?
I have two favorites—the Service Awards Banquet and our Thanksgiving lunch. Both bring everyone together like a family and show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our team.
John Zink has a long-standing legacy in the industry. What does that legacy mean to you? How do you see that legacy carrying onward and how do you contribute to it?
The legacy of John Zink means everything. It represents the trust and value we bring to the industry. I contribute to that legacy by building strong relationships within the business and with our customers, ensuring we continue to grow and remain the best in the business.
Which PBM principle resonates with you the most, and how do you apply it in your role to create value?
Integrity. I believe in being honest and straightforward with both internal and external customers. When people work with me, they know they will be treated fairly and truthfully. That kind of trust adds value to both myself and the business as a whole.
Reflecting on your time at John Zink, what makes you most proud to be part of this team? Is there a particular achievement or moment that stands out?
What I’m most proud of are the partnerships and friendships I’ve built with coworkers and customers. Along the way, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge about our products and services and developed strong leadership skills that continue to help me grow.
Just for fun: Do you have a favorite recipe or dish you love to cook?
My favorite dish is a picnic table covered in boiled crawfish.
