When did you join John Zink?

I joined John Zink in 2011 as a material coordinator in the shop, shortly after moving from Arizona to Tulsa. At the time, I didn’t know much about the business, but I quickly learned about its strong reputation in the oil industry and the significant value it brings to its customers.

Can you describe your role at John Zink and what your typical day entails? What are the most rewarding aspects of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is serving others. I spend my days talking to customers, understanding their needs, and connecting them with the right teams to find solutions. I also visit customer sites in Latin America and the Caribbean to provide presentations, training, and inspections, ensuring we address their challenges with the best solutions.

What has your career journey looked like so far? Which roles have you held at John Zink, and how have they contributed to your professional growth?

My career at John Zink began in the shop as a material coordinator for aftermarket, working with all product lines. I later became a lead for the Aftermarket and machine shop night shift, which opened the door to a role as a planner in the production control department. While focusing on aftermarket, I also supported customers in Latin America, leveraging my knowledge of the language and culture.

From there, I transitioned to sales, working directly with customers in Latin America and the Caribbean on flares, thermal oxidizers, and process burners. I’ve since grown from a sales representative to a regional team lead, and now to my current role in LATAM business development for aftermarket.

Each role has deepened my product knowledge through hands-on experience and shaped my career path to where I want to be.

How has John Zink supported your career growth?

While working as a material coordinator, I decided to pursue my degree online for flexibility with work and family. My supervisor encouraged me to use Koch’s tuition resources, which fueled my desire to learn and apply new knowledge in my role. When I was ready to earn my associate degree, my supervisor advised me to transition to a Planner position, aligning with my studies. That move helped me grow my skills and knowledge far beyond what I expected.

What does John Zink’s legacy mean to you, and how do you contribute to it?

John Zink’s legacy in combustion and emission control makes me proud to be part of the team. For me, that legacy starts every time a customer reaches out about our brand. Whether in the shop creating superior products or in sales representing the company, I strive to uphold our values and expertise, ensuring they are passed on to our customers.

Reflecting on your time at John Zink, what makes you most proud to be part of this team?

It makes me proud to be part of a team that cares and values the customers. Every day we look for ways to improve and to strength our relationship with our internal and external customers.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career at John Zink? What should they expect and prepare for?

John Zink is a company with many advancing opportunities, but a person must have a desire to learn, share and accept any challenges that will help to improve the company success and the employee knowledge. Challenges are an effective way to expand knowledge and to grow the career path.

At John Zink you are not alone and there is a team willing to help others and to provide input.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

If I had the opportunity to travel, I would go back to my country first to see my family and heritage, however I would love to go one day to Greece and Italy. I remember seeing pictures of those places when I was a kid, and I was always fascinated to read about the history of those countries.
