When did you join John Zink? What initially attracted you to John Zink?

I first joined John Zink as an intern in 2015 and accepted a full-time role after completing my internship. While I was an intern I made great long-lasting friendships with my fellow interns and also many of the people I interacted with throughout the business. Those relationships made it an easy choice to come back and experience those friendships and interactions every day!

Can you share a bit about your role?

I focus on supporting vapor control and biogas equipment, answering questions from both John Zink field service technicians and customers. When complex issues arise, I travel to troubleshoot onsite. I love helping our customers resolve issues and get back up and running.

What has your career journey looked like so far? Which roles have you held at John Zink, and how have they contributed to your professional growth?

My career at John Zink has been a journey of continuous growth. I started as a Process and R&D Engineer intern, then came back full-time in the same role. After that, I transitioned to an Applications Engineer in our Vapor Control Sales group, where I picked up valuable knowledge about the commercial and legal sides of the business. A few years later, I became a Project Manager on our Customer Response Team, focusing on ensuring our customers received excellent service. Now, as a Technical Service Advisor, I’m diving deeper into the hands-on aspects of our equipment, which has been a great way to build on what I've learned in my previous roles.

What is your favorite tradition or event at John Zink?

I love our annual golf tournament. I’ve only missed one in my time here at John Zink. It is fun getting paired with a new person that I haven’t been able to meet within our company.

John Zink is known for its innovation. Can you share how you contribute to this innovative environment in your role?

In my role I have direct contact with our field service technicians who get first-hand experience of any piece of the design of our equipment that could be enhanced. Due to that, I act as a conduit to help make sure this feedback to our design teams to incorporate into future designs.

Which PBM principle resonates with you the most, and how do you apply it in your role to create value?

The principle I have always related to the most is self-actualization. I have used this throughout my time at John Zink to guide me to my previous and current roles. In my current role, I have found that I enjoy doing data analytics, so I’ve started to focus more on PowerBI reporting and data modeling.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career at John Zink? What should they expect and prepare for?

My advice is to have a thirst for knowledge and to never settle for the status quo. There is a wealth of knowledge with all of our subject matter experts throughout the company so be ready and willing to reach out to anyone within the company to help gain the knowledge you need to be successful and grow.

What's one item on your bucket list that you hope to check off soon?

I want to go to an Olympic event in person, which I hope to check off my bucket list in 2028 when the US hosts the summer Olympics! There will be two events that are going to be hosted in Oklahoma so I’m excited to go to both of those.
